Die Firma ALFRED KONRAD Maschinenfabrik wurde 1939 in Bochum gegründet.

Die Entwicklung der Industriearmaturen, die das geschützte Warenzeichen EXENTROMAT^®  tragen, geht auf die frühen 60-er Jahre zurück. Das Fertigungsprogramm umfasst ausschließlich Armaturen in doppelexzentrischer Klappenbauweise, die aus Stahl und Edelstahl in geschweißter Ausführung gefertigt werden sowie deren Antriebe. Für spezielle Armaturen-Antriebe wurden ab 1967 Patente erteilt.

Bereits 1968 hat die Entwicklung der vollmetallischen Edelstahl-Klappendichtung begonnen, die erstmals eine einwandfreie Edelstahl/Edelstahl-Abdichtung ermöglichte und bis heute einen hohen Reifegrad und eine zuverlässige und hervorragende Dichtigkeit nach DIN 3230-3 BN und BO erreicht hat.
Mit dem Lösen des Metallringes aus dem Dichtflächenkontakt ist bei kleinstem Öffnungswinkel das Öffnungs- und Schließverhalten annähernd reibungsfrei. Die integrierte doppelexzentrische Anordnung ergibt eine Relativbewegung in den Sitz, die eine Dichtkraftkomponente erzeugt, damit das Schließmoment und das beidseitige, vollständige Dichtschließen gewährleistet ist.
Desweiteren werden alle gängigen Elastomer-Dichtungen sowie lamellare Dichtsysteme, Kombinationen von Edelstahl mit PTFE- oder Grafit-Lamellen eingesetzt.

Die Herstellung basiert auf einem Werksnormsystem, in dem sämtliche Bauteile als Module festgelegt sind, welche die Produktion zielführend bestimmen und kurze Reaktionszeiten möglich machen. Die passgenaue Lieferung von Ersatz- und Zubehörteilen ist damit just in time gewährleistet, ebenso der werkseitige Instandsetzungs-Service.

Seit 1982 werden unsere Produkte nach den Vorgaben unseres Qualitätssicherungs-Handbuches hergestellt. Das QS-System umfasst zahlreiche TÜV-Zulassungen sowie Baumusterprüfungen und richtet sich nach DIN EN ISO 9001. Jede Armatur wird nach DIN 3230-3 geprüft und das Ergebnis durch ein Abnahmeprüfzeugnis gemäß DIN EN 10204 - 3.1 bescheinigt.
Seit 2002 werden die Armaturen gemäß der DGRL 97/23/EG hergestellt.

Um die Normvorgaben für Armaturen sicherzustellen sind folgende TÜV-Zertifizierungen vorhanden:  - Zulassung AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 0 und DIN EN ISO 3834-3  - Baumuster Flansch- und Einschweißausführung  - Schweißverfahren  - TA-Luft.

EXENTROMAT^®-Armaturen sind Präzisions- und Qualitätsprodukte und deshalb technisch hochwertige Rohrleitungskomponenten. Sie zeichnen sich durch absolute Dichtheit, hohe Betriebssicherheit, lange Lebensdauer aus und sind wartungsfrei.

In 1939 the company ALFRED KONRAD Maschinenfabrik was founded in Bochum.

In the early sixties we started the development of industrial valves which are protected by the trademark EXENTROMAT^®. The manufacturing program comprises welding type valves made of steel and stainless steel and their actuators. The valves are exclusively constructed in double eccentric design. Since 1967 we have had patents on special valve actuators.

The development of solid-material metal disc seal already started in 1968 and for the first time it was possible to seal up perfectly by using a metal-on-metal-sealing. By today this kind of sealing has reached a high degree of ripeness and facilitates a reliable and outstanding tightness according to DIN 3230-3 BN and BO.
The characteristics of opening and closing are nearly frictionfree through loosening the metal ring out of the contact with the sealing surface at the smallest width of open. The integrated double eccentric construction results in a relative movement into the seat. This movement effects a component of sealing forces to guarantee the closing torque and the complete tightness of closing on both sides.
In addition we also use all common valve seals from elastomers as well as laminated sealing systems which are combinations of stainless steel together with PTFE- or graphite lamination.

The production is based on a works standard system. All parts are layed down as  moduls which determine the production as a guide line. That is why we have the facility to react promptly. Thereby we can ensure the delivery of spare parts and equipment just in time as well as a maintenance service in our workshop.

Since 1982 our products have been manufactured according to our quality assurance manual. The QA-System is conform with DIN EN ISO 9001 and comprises numerous TUEV-registrations as well as type approvals for valve housing. Each valve is inspected and proved acc. DIN 3230-3 and the results are reported in a inspection certificate acc. DIN EN 10204 - 3.1.
Since 2002 the valves are manufactured according PED 97/23/EC.

To secure the given standard of valves we can present the following TUEV-certificates:  -  Licence AD 2000-Sheet HP 0 and DIN EN ISO 3834-3  -  Type Approvals flange and welding ends design  -  Welding procedure  -  TA-Luft.
